Infanticide Legalized in New York—America Yawns….

Last night, while minding my own business, a friend let me know that New York Governor Andrew Cuomo had signed a bill into law legalizing abortion up to the time of birth, if the baby is not expected to survive, or if they are deemed to threaten the health or life of the mother.

So I checked the news, and sure enough found the horrific evidence.

According to, New York’s legislation also removes protections for babies who survive attempted abortions and eliminates language from criminal statutes that would prosecute an individual for acts that result in the death of an unborn baby. Non-physicians, such as nurse practitioners, physician assistants and midwives, will additionally now be permitted to perform abortions.

In other words, the state of New York is in a blood-thirsty race to kill as many unborn children as possible.

So with one swift move of the pen, Governor Cuomo codified infanticide into New York state law, as he laughed with fellow abortion supporters on hand.

One World Trade Center was also lit pink overnight to celebrate the passage of the so-called Reproductive Health Act.

Ahead of the final vote, Albany Bishop Edward B. Scharfenberger issued an open letter to Cuomo published Jan. 19 at, the website of The Evangelist, Albany’s diocesan newspaper. The New York State Catholic Conference released a statement signed by all the Catholic bishops of the state urging the bill not be passed.

Bishop Scharfenberger had urged Cuomo not to let the bill, which he termed a “Death Star,” become law and he warned that he and many fear it will lead to the determination that one day “being pro-life” will be “a hate crime in the state of New York.

Groups such as New Yorkers for Constitutional Freedoms were among those who actively opposed the legislation, while also acknowledging that it would likely pass due to the Democratic control of the state legislature.

“New Yorkers for Constitutional Freedoms opposes the Reproductive Health Act in the strongest possible terms. We respectfully call upon members of the legislature to summon the courage and compassion to vote against it,” it wrote in a Memorandum of Opposition.

Here’s the video I put out last night after I heard this tragic news.

Yet, even possibly more disturbing than the news of this bill’s passing, is the lack of reaction I’m seeing to an in-your-face, nakedly evil move by the New York state legislature and Governor Cuomo.

Where is the outcry, America?

A day and a half after the bill’s signing, and I still haven’t seen news of “New York Signs Infanticide Bill!” on major sites like FoxNews and Drudge. Maybe it’s there… somewhere… but it certainly isn’t prominent!

Cuomo told those gathered at the signing event, that he believed the bill was necessary because he feared that Roe v. Wade would be overturned by the Supreme Court and that he needed to “protect our state.” As previously reported, Cuomo had refused to sign the budget bill this coming April without the passage of the Reproductive Health Act.

“We should not be here in the first place. We should not have a federal government that is trying to roll back women’s rights,” Cuomo stated. “This administration defies American evolution. We’re supposed to be moving forward. We’re supposed to be advancing. We’re supposed to live and learn. We’re supposed to be growing.

Listen to this man’s language. He thinks backwards, and he’s in charge of one of the most important states in our union. He is filled with evil, but he’s not the only one. The New York state assembly and senate overwhelmingly voted for the bill, and as it passed, many stood and cheered with joy.

But where are the “forward” people to stop the backwards people? Is America collectively yawning at the news of a bold new attack against the most innocent among us?

Governor Cuomo again called for the presentation of a ballot initiative, which would codify what he called “a woman’s right to control her own body” in the New York Constitution. The constitutional amendment would be in addition to the legislation that he signed Tuesday evening, so as to prevent any efforts by future leadership to restrict or do away with abortion “rights.”

Governor Cuomo was not satisfied to stop at infanticide—he’s hell-bent on codifying it in to permanent law.

So what can we do?

I believe we must start with prayer. But we certainly can’t end there.

We must build a culture that celebrates life in America. We must speak out against the culture of death. And we must do it now.

Call Governor Cuomo at 1-518-474-8390 (9am to 5 pm ET) and let him know what you think of his infanticide legislation (don’t threaten him or say anything stupid, just let him know you will do everything in your power to oppose him, and reverse this law).

Check out New Yorkers For Constitutional Freedoms, who were one of the groups who reportedly actively opposed the New York infanticide legislation. We need to find allies and work with them to bring about the change we want to see.

Get in touch with the pro-life organizations in your state and get involved.

Thankfully, there are places like Tennessee, which is moving in the opposite direction of New York.

We need to end the wanton slaughter of unborn children. How can we expect God to bless our country when His innocent sons and daughters are being ripped from the womb?

You can be sure evil will not stop at New York. It is feeling encouraged and looking to expand its slaughter of the innocent. That you can bet on.

It’s time to fight—with righteous power—or lose everything we have.

If you have any thoughts on what we can do to fight the New York legislation or help restore America’s values, feel free to comment.

I look forward to speaking with you again soon.
